IA  rating stands for Island Air-Deck Flooring

All Island Inflatable IA models come with Island's pantent Double Wall High Pressure Air-Deck Flooring. The advantages of an air floor are its lightwieght design and ease of use. You can roll up or unroll your boat easily without having to remove or install the floor. The only other design of inflatable that can do this is the old slat floor inflatable boats. The differences between a slat floor boat and a air floor boat is huge. The main advantage is the air floor boat  allows the boat to have a inflatable keel which in turn gives the boat a much dryer ride and 4 times the manuviablitly/control of a slat floor boat.  High Pressure Inflatable Air Deck Floors also offer impressive rigidity. The boat also accelrates fast and obtains and impressive speed while requiring less horsepower than comparably sized wood floor or aluminium boats. Fitting a wood floor can be a hassle in some circumstances particulary if your working on the water on on the deck of a saling boat or cruiser. In the Island Inflatable range we do offer wood flooring versions (IW models) our sales records show the Air Flooring is a much more popular and excepted model due to these features, out selling the wood floor versions by 30 Air Decks sold to every 1 Wood floor version. We do recommend the Wood flooring for specific circumstances where heavy loads are carried fro transport reasons and they are perfect for Scuba Divers with heavy tanks.

No Slat Foors
	None of our boats have slat floors. Slat floors are "old technology" These floors are made from slats of wood or aluminium. They are both heavy and uncormfortable to stand on. There is no structure under the slat so they move when you step on them. Slat floor boats have a completely flat bottom, which effects the performance of the boat dramatically when turning and in choppy water.
