With inflatable boats to suit every customer, finding the right fit for you is a (summer) breeze! The Island Inflatables (Superlight) SL270 is the big brother to the SL230, making it the perfect tender for medium-sized cruisers and yachts. Before you head out on the water, make sure your yacht has the best possible companion.
Alongside an ingenious design, the Island Inflatables (Superlight) SL270 is made with the best heavy-duty materials on offer. The rigid base of the boat is a single skin aluminium floor, making it a lightweight but durable alternative to a fibreglass base.
We also use the heaviest grade of PVC material possible before getting into the commercial grades, which are used in the armed forces. Our grade is 1100 D-teck Denier at 0.9mm thickness. The tubes of the boat, which are oversized for a comfier, drier and smoother ride, are even covered with a second layer of PVC material. This layer helps to shield the boat from stray rocks and shells while it is dragged or launched off the beach.
Our boats are equipped with large, heavy-duty stainless steel tow rings mounted on a reinforced mounting patch of a similar size. This is a feature that sets our boats apart from other, less reliable inflatables. Boats of a lower quality will always use a smaller ring and patch with no reinforcing. We’ve also placed non-marking rubbing/wear strips around the side of the boat and under the keel to protect it from general wear and tear.
At Island Inflatables, our products are Australian-made and built to survive the harsh Aussie climate. This is why we use the latest “High Frequency Thermo Welding” (HFTW) techniques on all the seams, ensuring they won’t come apart due to heat. Additionally, all Island Inflatables come with an over-inflation valve, which is fitted to help with hotter days and increased air pressure.
Along with oversized tubes for a comfier, drier ride, we’ve made sure the safety rope sits to the side of the tube rather than the top. This means that you don’t have to worry about sitting on an uncomfortable rope during rides. Our design also features Internal Rear Carry Handles, which are placed on the inside of the rear tubes so that they’re easier to carry.
As an added bonus, this placement prevents the carry handles from scratching your cruiser or yacht. If you’re worried about how your Island Inflatables (Superlight) SL270 will look alongside your cruiser or yacht, we can put your mind at ease. Its white and grey colour scheme is highly versatile and will certainly be compatible with your pride and joy.
